1960 The year Sarah Brightman was Born!! August 14th in Berkhampstead, England. The oldest of 6 children.
Around 1963/64 Sarah begins dancing lessons at the age of
3.
1973 - At 14, Sarah made her theatrical debut in I and Albert at the Piccadilly Theatre,
London, playing one of Queen Victoria's daughters--"Vicki".
1976 / 77 Sarah joined the dance group Pan's People. Then at 18 she joined Arlene Philips'
raunchy dance group Hot Gossip. It was while singing and dancing with them that she made her first top
5 hit single with I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper with the B-side Do Do Do.
1979 Sarah Brightman and the Starship Troopers release The Adventures Of The Love Crusader, B Side
Lost In Space (The Nurgon Zone).
Sarah (age 18) marries Andrew Graham-Stewart, producer of
Tangerine Dreams.
1980 Sarah goes for an audition for a role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Cats.
Wearing a blue wig, and a skimpy dress, sung like an angel, and got the part of Jemima a Kitten/Cat.
1981
saw Sarah release the singles Not Having That!, with the B Side Echo 4, and My Boyfriend's
Back and B Side Sleeping Beauty. Cats Premiers at the New London Theatre (London, UK) on 11 May
1981, with Sarah playing Jemima.
1982
Sarah appears in Nightingale at the Lyric Hammersmith
1983 saw the release of the singles Him, B Side Memory (from Cats),
Rhythm Of The Rain and B side Action Man.
Sarah and Andrew Graham-Stewart
divorced.
On 22 March Sarah Brightman and Andrew Lloyd Webber
married.
1984 -Succeeded Marti Webb in Song and Dance, Sarah starred as Emma.
1984 Sarah is asked to play Christine
in Ken Hill's version of Phantom of the Opera, but Sarah has to decline as she has other commitments.
1985 Sarah premiered Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem in New York and London, for which she
received a Grammy nomination as Best New Classical Artist. A single was released from Requiem -
Pie Jesu.
Also the same year (1985) she performed the role of Valencienne
in The Merry Widow for New Sadler's Wells Opera.
1986 Sarah created the role of Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera,
This role was written especially for Sarah by Andrew. Phantom opened at Her Majesty's Theatre, London in October 1986. Sarah
also premiered the role on Broadway in 1988, where she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award.
1987
Sarah sang and released the song Doretta's Dream - Theme from Room With A View - (the film), the B side
O Mio Babbino Caro,
1988 EMI Releases the Early One Morning CD. Folksongs arranged by Benjamin Britten.
This album has also been released as The Trees They grow So High.
Also in 1988 an album was released for Children in Need. Sarah sang
In The Bleak Midwinter.
1989 The children's film Grandpa was released. Sarah sang
the song Make Believe at the end during the credits.
Sarah releases her first solo album - The Songs
That Got Away based on songs from Broadway and West End Musicals that somehow got lost.
1990 - Sarah releases her second solo album As I Came Of Age, and a single Something
To Believe in and B Side Brown Eyes. The CD single has the extra bonus track Love Changes
Everything sung by Sarah.
In 1990 Sarah divorces Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Sarah plays in Aspects Of Love; she plays Rose in
both New York and London.
1992 Really Useful Records releases Sarah Brightman Sings The Songs Of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
1993 Released third solo album Dive, and single Captain Nemo on single and
CD.
1995 Recorded Surrender, The
Unexpected Songs with Andrew Lloyd Webber.
1996 Released fourth solo album Fly,
and the following singles from that album, Question of Honour, How Can Heaven Love Me featuring
Christopher Thompson and Heaven Is Here.
1997 Timeless released. And CD Single
Time To Say Goodbye, duet with Andrea Bocelli.
1997 Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection CD released.
1998 Starship Troopers re-released CD single released.
And CD Starred in A
Christmas in Vienna along with Placido Domingo, Helmut Lottie and Riccardo Cocciante.
1998 Released Eden and Time To Say Goodbye The Millennium Edition.
2000 The release of La Luna.
